Erin M.

In the Summer of 2013, Erin began experiencing excruciating pain in her chest and was rushed to the ER. Tests revealed that a massive tumor caused a rib to fracture and further test results led to a diagnosis of Ewing’s Sarcoma, a primary bone cancer that affects mainly children and adolescents.

Erin endured 12 weeks of chemotherapy  that  shrunk the tumor  in half.  The next course of treatment was to surgically remove the remainder of the tumor. During surgery, Erin’s doctors found that the tumor was deeper than anticipated. Although her doctors were able to remove 99% of the tumor, this surgery left Erin paralyzed from mid-back, down.

Erin received her Special Spaces Buffalo makeover in October of 2016.  The video below show’s Erin on this year’s 97 Rock Make-A-Wish radio-thon and highlights what an amazing young lady she is!
